The 2018 Buchanan Lecturer is Dr. Paul W. Mayne, PhD, P.E., professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Mayne’s lecture is entitled “Versatility of Cone Penetration Tests in GeoCharacterization.”
Also on the agenda is Dr. Kerry Rowe, PhD, P.E., NAE, who will be presenting his 2017 Terzaghi Lecture "Protecting the environment with geosynthetics." Dr. Rowe holds the Canada Research Chair in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
This year the Buchanan Lecture will be sponsored by Fugro.
The lectures will take place in the Brazos Amphitheater at the College Station Hilton, and will begin at 2:00 pm on November 30, 2018. The lectures will be followed by a reception at the home of Janet and Jean-Louis Briaud.
